I design with the user in mind and let research point the way.

Most recently: ReelView, a movie theater booking app built from user interviews to a live, interactive high-fidelity prototype.

Featured work

ReelView

A movie theater booking app designed from user interviews through testing and iterating on a live, interactive prototype. ReelView addresses the friction users currently experience from theater apps: hidden fees, complex rewards systems, and seat maps that do not accurately represent the room.

ReelView v2
Highlights
  1. User interviews and a competitive audit of five direct and two indirect competitors shaped the project.
  2. Live, interactive high-fidelity prototype built with Claude Code instead of static mockups.
  3. Moderated remote usability testing surfaced 96 observations across 10 clusters.
  4. v2 prototype addresses every priority tier from the usability findings, plus an accessibility pass and simplicity rework.

About

Raymond Aponte
Location: Raleigh–Durham, NC

My background is a blend of logic and empathy.

I’ve worked as a manager in the service industry, earned my degree in Computer Science, and spent some time further educating myself to find the path best suited for me. Along my journey, I’ve developed an appreciation for how things are built. I’ve also learned how to communicate with and empower others. When I discovered product design, I saw it as a chance to combine these skills: to learn not only how people interact with systems, but also how to improve them through empathy and creativity.

When working on a project, I let user research drive the design, then let feedback refine it. The goal is to make a product that feels as intuitive as it is functional.

When I’m not designing, I’m either at a movie or out on a trail. On quieter days, I’m usually reading (most likely Dune), catching up on a graphic novel, enjoying a game, or working on my drawing skills.
